what happened: Kedarnath Prusty, Manik Mishra and Prodip Gangopadhyay were arrested in a fake bank guarantee case.
what it means: The three officers of the nationalised bank allegedly had a role in a case involving fake bank guarantees worth Rs 173 crore. They will be produced in a court on Wednesday.
what next: CID will pray for 14 days of police custody for all three. It's a case registered in Bidhannagar.

Deadline to apply for FYJC admissions extended to June 29

what happened: Students will get two more days to apply for seats in first year junior college (FYJC) sections.
what it means: Previously, today was the last day to fill forms, but the Maharashtra education department gave an extension as the website was down for many days. So far, over 2.36 lakh students have signed up.
what next: The first merit list will be out on July 7. Students will find out how they are ranked on June 30.
